A.C. Welding

A.C. Welding is used above all in case of welding procedures of long duration in conjunction with steel or for heating processes. The energy is taken directly from the 50 Hz (60 Hz) mains by way of a power/time controller to a welding transformer and forwarded from there as low voltage energy to the welding tongs / probe. The units are uncomplicated, rugged and of relatively light weight. Various options are available, for instance as a pulse generator.

Resistronic Ltd. offers only one device of this type, but in various maximum power levels, from 1.5 to 2.5 kA, for various power supply voltages and mains frequencies. The units are very popular for tack welding and assembly work with small cross-sections.
